Gin Festival at Liberty Midlands Mall Saturday, 19 March offers a selection of premium gins
Pietermaritzburg, 28 February 2022: Next month, the clock will strike gin as the Pietermaritzburg Gin Festival will take place at Liberty Midlands Mall, on Saturday, 19 March. Featuring a curated selection of local and international gins, accompanied by live music, including Holly Rey, DJs and food trucks, in the Edgars car park, Gin O’ Clock will last from 11:00 – 21:00 that day.
Gin lovers can look forward to tasting gins from premium distillers including Black Horse Gin (distillery from Gauteng – Magaliesburg), OriGin (distillery from Gauteng – Cradle of Humankind), Smith’s Gin (Joburg-based distillery), Railroad Brewing Company (Ballito-based distillery), Ambrewlance (Durban-based concept. VW bus converted into a gin bar), Monks Gin (distillery based in Cape Town), Bootlegger Gin (Joburg based distillery) and Bombay (world-renowned gin brand). Guests will also enjoy a wide range of gin cocktails carefully crafted by the distillers and their teams.
The festival is a collaboration between the mall and the South African Gin Society, who has been promoting and supporting South African gin products since 2016. South African distillers have been producing world-class gin products for many years, with several local gin brands winning awards at international gin competitions.
Tickets are priced at R120, which includes a Gin glass and Gin & Tonic on arrival, which may be redeemed from any of the gin vendors. Tickets are now available at on www.howler.co.za.
